A small message for Christmas

Yesterday (20/12) a delegation from Iraq visited CSFT to catch up on the vocational education at our Centre.

At the farewell there was a small dialogue:

“I hope we will see us again”, said the Iraqi group leader.

“We surely will – sometime, somewhere. The world has become small”, I replied.

“Oh yes, we are all living in One World”, said the guest from Iraq.

His warmth, his desire for peace and to overcome barriers which he expressed with his words, I’d like to share with you.

Merry Christmas and peace and happiness for 2011!

Welcome

Doncaster College, the largest provider of training and education in South Yorkshire, has partnered with Centre Sectoriel de Formation en Télécommunication in Tunis to collaborate on an exciting and innovative project.

Supported by the British Council Skills for Employability programme, the project aims to improve the status of skills sector employment through the accreditation of vocational skills, the development of opportunities for in-service up-skilling and the design of world-class EFL (English as a Foreign Language) e-learning resources.

A unique aspect of the project is the development of 3-D learning objects to support learners in acquiring vocational language skills. FusedWorks, the innovative technological group that is a part of the Doncaster College, will develop interactive 3-D visualisations and learning objects that aim to engage learners and support the development of spoken English.

The project, which has a duration of two-years, will also support the development of a new vocational based multi-media curriculum for delivery at CSFT and the Tunisian workplace.

Lee Sullivan, Doncaster College's representative for the project says:

"We are extremely pleased to have this opportunity to work with CSFT in the design of an exciting employer-centered curriculum. The project will enable both institutions to share good practice and develop teaching resources that will provide real industry-related learning. CSFT have a formidable reputation as a beacon of excellence in the field of information technology whilst FusedWorks are the region’s leading digital solutions experts".

The project will culminate in an international conference in Tunisia on industry-led training in 2012.
